Netra Tarpana — literally 'nourishment of the eyes' — is a classical Ayurvedic ophthalmic therapy described in the Ashtanga Hridayam. It involves bathing the eyes in medicated liquid to soothe, cool, and rejuvenate the delicate tissues, and it remains one of the most respected practices in Ayurvedic eye care.
At the centre of Netra Tarpana sits Triphala — the celebrated three-fruit compound of Amalaki, Bibhitaki and Haritaki. Its cooling, anti-inflammatory and rejuvenating qualities make it the most frequently cited ingredient in classical eye formulations.
Euphrasia, known in traditional medicine as Eyebright, has been used for centuries for its soothing action on the eyes. Combined with Triphala, it forms the basis of Ayurjeet Arogya Netram — a Netra Tarpana-inspired daily eye care formulation built for the modern eye.
